Alan Garvey, Managing Director, EMEA and Asia, ESI International, leads a team of more than 75 professionals who are responsible for all aspects of ESI learning program development and delivery across EMEA and Asia. Alan focuses primarily on identifying new markets and working with new and current clients to ensure ESI consistently exceeds expectations.
With more than two decades of leadership experience, much of it focused in complex multi-language, -currency and -cultural business environments, Alan is an important asset for ESI’s numerous international clients as well as the company itself. His understanding of cultural and business norms across so many countries and regions assures ESI clients that their mulit-country learning programs are well stewarded.
His strengths in these areas has helped ESI expand its local client services, especially in Europe and the Middle East. Under Alan’s guidance, ESI transitioned from serving the Middle East from Europe to having permanent, on-the-ground operations in 2006. He has also led major ESI expansions across Europe, particularly in the Nordic Countries, Benelux and France. Currently he is focused on expanding ESI operations in South East Asia, China and India.
Prior to ESI, Alan held a variety of leadership positions with IT learning and development companies as well as IT services companies, including TMS Information Solutions Ltd., where he served as a managing director. It was later acquired by the Parity Group.
Alan holds a BSC in Computer Science from The University of Coventry, UK. He has spent time living in the United States, England and Singapore.
