ARLINGTON, Va. USA – October 13, 2011 – ESI International has been awarded a Silver Learning in Practice Award by Chief Learning Officer Magazine in the category of Excellence in Content for a customized program designed in collaboration with the General Service Administration’s (GSA) Public Buildings Service (PBS).
As the civilian government’s landlord, PBS owns or leases 9,624 assets, providing workspace for over a million federal employees and it preserves nearly 500 historic properties. As part of its initiative to improve service delivery reliability, efficiency, and effectiveness, PBS partnered with ESI using GSA’s University for People (U4P) blanket purchase agreement to create a customized project management learning solution that would enable PBS employees to support PBS’ transformation, while helping clients across the federal government to achieve better efficiencies. By late 2011, nearly 75% of PBS will have participated in the program.
The Learning in Practice Awards are designed to recognize industry leaders who have demonstrated excellence in the design and delivery of employee development programs; there are two separate categories for practitioners and vendors. Finalists for the awards are chosen by a panel of industry experts and executives from the world’s largest, most well-respected companies, on the basis of three criteria: ownership, the degree to which the provider demonstrated their commitment to the client by helping to define outcomes, set goals, provide guidance, work through obstacles and communicate challenges and successes, the challenge of the scope, difficulty and size of the initiative, as well as, category-specific criteria.
The award winners were announced at the CLO’s Fall Symposium, Game –Changing Learning: Development for the New Normal, on October 12-14 in Dana Point, CA. Descriptions of the winners’ learning practices, for which they were recognized, will appear in the December issue of CLO Magazine.
