You may apply any qualifying course toward an associate's, professional or master's certificate, whether it's an e-Training, virtual classroom or a classroom course.

Registrations, Transfers and Cancellations:

3) How can I register for a course?

Special Note Concerning e-Training and Virtual Classes: You will need to register online for our e-Training and Virtual courses, but a Customer Care representative can assist you with any questions.


4) I would like to transfer from one class to another. Who should I contact?
Call ESI Customer Service at +1 (888) ESI-8884.

5) What is your Course Cancellation Policy?
- Classroom Course Cancellation Policy :
Cancellations may be subject to a $150 processing fee, if cancelled within 30 days of the class start date. However, you may send a substitute or transfer to another ESI class without penalty one business day prior to the start date of the class. No-shows cannot transfer payment to another ESI class and will not receive a full refund. If you cancel after payment has been received, you will receive a credit voucher (refundable upon request) valid for one year from the date when the enrollment was cancelled.

All courses are subject to cancellation. When a course is cancelled, ESI assumes no responsibility for nonrefundable airline tickets or lodging expenses. To cancel a classroom course, transfer to another classroom course or to send a substitute, contact ESI Customer Service +1 (888) ESI-8884 or your account representative.

- e-Training Cancellation Policy:
If ESI's e-Training receives notification of cancellation within the first seven calendar days of enrollment, the student or organization will receive a refund, less an administration fee of 10% of list (non-discounted) tuition. Beyond the seven calendar days from enrollment, no credits or refunds, partial or otherwise, apply. To cancel an e-Training course or for more information, contact ESI Customer Service +1 (800) 374-1556 or +1 (703) 558-3000.

- Virtual Classroom Cancellation Policy:

Payments & Discounts:


6) What forms of payment does ESI accept?
ESI accepts the following proof of payment: check, credit card, purchase order and government training form. Accepted credit cards include: American Express, Discover, Diners Club, MasterCard and Visa. Credit cards are processed within one business day from the date when the registration is taken. Checks should be made payable to ESI International. Purchase orders and government training forms should name ESI International as the vendor.

7) How can I obtain a copy of a receipt for course payment?

8) Early Registration
You may register for a course at any time; however, full payment is expected at the time of the registration.

9) Registrations Within One Month of Course Start
All student registrations received within one month prior to the course start date must be accompanied by one of the following in order for ESI to complete the registration:

  • Credit Card
  • Signed Purchase Order
  • Signed Training Form

Course Location and Confirmation Letters:


11) What hotels are located near my classroom?

Washington, DC area:
ESI has negotiated rates for several hotels located near the Ballston Training Center.

Other Locations:
Many of our courses are conducted in hotels and conference centers.  When possible, ESI will negotiate a rate for students attending the session.  You may call our Customer Service team to see if there is a negotiated rate for the hotel where you class will be held.  Not all hotels have special rates for ESI and a lodging discount is not guaranteed.  Contact ESI Customer Service +1 (888) ESI-8884.  Below are links to Web sites where you may investigate hotels available across the United States, should you choose to stay at a hotel other than where the course is being held. 12) When will I receive a confirmation letter for my course?
You will receive a confirmation e-mail within one business day of registration.  Your confirmation e-mail will include information regarding class hours and location. If a site location is not listed in your letter, ESI is still finalizing the site and will notify you as soon as the site is confirmed.

13) I haven't received my confirmation letter yet. Who should I contact?
Our customer service representatives can assist you with course enrollment confirmation. Call ESI Customer Service at +1 (888) ESI-8884.


14) What is ESI’s Disability Accommodation Policy?
Upon prior sufficient notice, ESI will provide reasonable accommodations to students with disabilities pursuant to applicable laws. We request written notice at least 15 days prior to the start of a course so that ESI can arrange for reasonable accommodations and establish appropriate billing arrangements.  If applicable, the employer of the student will be billed for the cost of any necessary accommodation.  Please call +1 (866) ESI-8201 or contact ESI at accommodations@esi-intl.com for assistance.

Missed Class Time, Exams, Grades and Course Completion:


15) How do I arrange to make up missed class time?
If you have missed more than 4 hours of class time, you will automatically receive a letter from ESI after the course ends, outlining your options for making up the class time and the ESI staff contact for arranging the missed class time. You must make up any absence greater than four hours in order to receive credit and a completion certificate for the course.

16) Will I earn a course completion certificate for every ESI course I complete successfully? Yes. You can expect to earn a course completion certificate from any ESI classroom, e-Training or virtual room course, if you fulfill all course requirements. In order to complete a course, you must attend the required course hours and successfully complete any required exam or course project.  

Special Note Regarding Appraisals: PMAppraiseTM and BAAppraise™ are not courses and do not qualify for course completion certificates

17) How many times can I take a course exam if I fail?
If you fail the exam in class, you may retake it up to two more times in a proctored environment or on exam day in another session of the same course. To arrange another exam, please contact your ESI Training Manager at +1 (703) 558-3000.

18) How do I find out what grade I earned on an exam or course?
Most ESI courses contain a final exam. For courses with exams, ESI can provide the exam score and confirmation of course completion. For courses without final exams, ESI can provide confirmation of course completion. Your instructor will grade your exam before you leave class.

If you would like a transcript showing your training history, including course title, date of completion and contact hours earned (the instructional time in the classroom), contact the Office of Student Affairs at +1 (888) ESI-4681. You may also view your training history and grades by logging onto MyESI at www.esi-intl.com/MyESI.

If you are seeking a transcript reflecting ACE credits for a college or university, you must obtain that transcript from the ACE Council on Education (ACE/CREDIT) College Credit Recommendation Service student registry, at www.acenet.edu. See the related Transcripts answer below.

ESI and The George Washington University's Certificate Programs:


19) What courses should I take if I want to earn a certificate?
ESI offers a variety of courses you can take to earn one of our program certificates. Depending on your experience and knowledge base, there are some courses you may want to take first and others that you may want to take later in your course of study. The certificates below contain certain course recommendations that you may want to follow.
 
Associate’s Certificate in Project Management
Associate’s Certificate in IT Project Management
Associate’s Certificate in Contract Management
Associate's Certificate in Business Analysis
Master's Certificate in Project Management

20) Can I earn two certificates at the same time?
Courses cannot be applied to more than one master's or professional certificate, however, if you are interested in pursuing more that one master’s or professional certificate, you may discuss your options with a course counselor by calling +1 (888) ESI-4680.

You may apply any courses taken to receive your associate’s certificate towards a master’s or professional certificate.

21) I would like to switch from one master's certificate program to another. How do I do this?
ESI handles these requests on a case-by-case basis. It may be possible to transfer some courses from one certificate program  to another.  Please contact  the Office of Student Affairs at +1 (888) ESI-4681 for additional information.

22) How do I report the Professional Development Units (PDUs) I earn with ESI courses to PMI?
To report your PDUs, you will need to submit a PMP® Professional Development Activities Reporting Form directly, or visit www.pmi.org.

Transcripts:


23) I need a transcript that shows the grade I received  on the exam.
Most ESI courses contain a final exam. For courses with exams, ESI can provide the exam score and confirmation of course completion. For courses without final exams, ESI can provide confirmation of course completion. Your instructor will grade your exam before you leave class. If you would like a transcript showing your training history, including course title, date of completion and  contact hours earned (the instructional time in the classroom), contact the Office of Student Affairs at +1 (888)ESI-4681. You may also view your training history and grades by logging onto MyESI at www.esi-intl.com/MyESI.

24) Can I earn college credit by taking ESI courses?  What is ACE?
If you want to earn college credit, you may wish to receive an official ACE transcript (American Council on Education) by joining the ACE student registry and requesting an official transcript from ACE reflecting ACE's college credit recommendations for the ESI training. (Please note that this transcript will not be from The George Washington University.)  We recommend that before joining the ACE Registry, you take the ACE information sheet showing the list of ACE college credit recommended courses to your college advisor to discuss the relevance of ESI training to the degree program you are pursuing. If the college or university is unfamiliar with ACE/CREDIT, Please call The College Credit and Transcripts department at +1 (202) 939- 9434.

25) How can I earn Advanced Standing in The George Washington University’s Master’s Degree Program?
The George Washington University (GW) offers a Master of Science degree in Project Management within its School of Business.  The University will award advanced standing toward its Master of Science in Project Management to those students who earn an ESI/GW master’s certificate within five years of starting the master’s degree program.  Project Management master’s certificate holders may receive credit for up to three “non-core” courses, for a total of up to nine credit hours.  Advanced academic credit is awarded at the academic advisor’s discretion.  For more information on this exciting degree program, contact the program office at +1 (202) 994-6145, by e-mail at mspminfo@gwu.edu or visit http://business.gwu.edu/grad/mspm/.
