Improve Vendor Relations with Collaborative Risk Management

Class Length: 2 Days   Class Hours: 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.   PDUs: 15.0

Too often, contract management activities are highly reactive, only taking place after problems have surfaced, jeopardizing the success of the contract and resulting in failure. Success relies on the right people doing their part to gather requirements and award, draft, manage and administer the contract.

In this workshop-style course, participants learn a proactive approach to contracting based on a combination of risk management and vendor collaboration.

In this workshop, participants will learn how to:

  • Recognize the value of building, creating and promoting a collaborative relationship between buyer and vendor.
  • Overcome psychological barriers to vendor collaboration in stakeholders and team members.
  • Examine a framework for a successful and overarching sourcing management process.
  • Recognize the value of investing in thorough risk management early and often during the sourcing life cycle.
  • Create a common framework between buyer and vendor for dealing with risk.
  • Explore strategies for managing risks throughout the sourcing life cycle and in global sourcing situations.

This workshop style course would benefit your organization if:

  • Problems are arising on contract administration and management. Are you dissatisfied with contract performance?
  • There are new or inexperienced people involved in managing contracts.
  • Relations between buyer and seller are adversarial. Do you collaborate with your vendors?
  • Your organization wants to improve its contracting process.
