ESI International is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. We will not sell, share or rent this information to others in ways different from what is disclosed in this statement. ESI International collects information from our users at several different points on our Web site that is necessary to provide a service or product to our customers. Below are the areas on the ESI Web site where ESI collects data.
Data Collection
Registration/Ordering Publications
While you may freely browse our online course catalog and list of publications online, you will need to register in order to sign up for a course or purchase a book. After selecting a course or publication, you will be directed to a log-in area where you will be asked for your email address and a password. Both serve to protect access to your personal information submitted within this secure registration/order area of the site.
If you choose to take an ESI class or order an ESI publication, information collected during the registration/publication order process includes: your name, title, organization, email address, phone number, fax number, mailing address, billing/shipping address and billing information such as card, card type, number and expiration date. ESI uses the email address, fax number and mailing address to provide additional information (course location, start date etc.) about your selected course. Our customer service representatives may also use the information to contact you in the event that they need to clarify your registration or publications order.
ESI asks for the name, mailing address and phone number of your organization’s training director/human resources director and approving manager. This information is optional and is not required. ESI uses this information to inform decision-makers via mail about other ESI training opportunities. The phone number is collected as a secondary contact for billing purposes.
ESI Breakfast Seminars & Webinar Events
Site visitors may choose to attend an ESI Breakfast Seminar or Webinar event by filling out a form online that requests their name, title, organization, industry, mailing address, phone number, and email. The email is required as the e-mail address serves as a password for users to access their registration record later. Registrants will receive e-mail confirmations when they register or alter their registration. In addition, they will receive a reminder call from ESI prior to the Breakfast Seminar or Webinar event.
Downloadable/Information Request Form
Site visitors may request various downloadable content including, course catalogs, on-demand webinars and podcasts, through the Resource Request form. Students may also request additional information through the Information Request form located in the Contact Us section of our site. Visitors are asked for their name, title, organization, industry, mailing address, country, email address, business phone. The mailing and contact information is requested for catalog mailings and to allow ESI customer service representatives to contact customers posing questions via this online form. Site visitors requesting downloadable content or information will receive emails and additional information about ESI programs through the mail.
ESI Horizons Subscription Form
Site visitors may choose to subscribe to ESI’s free monthly newsletter, ESI Horizons, by filling out a form online that requests their name, title, organization, industry, mailing address, phone number, and email. The email is required as the email address serves as a password for users to access the PDF of the newsletter located at ESI’s Web site. Phone numbers are requested in the event that our customer service representatives may need to verify subscription information. Subscribers may receive postal mailings from time to time from ESI describing special offers or information about other ESI courses.
Alumni Newsletter/Membership Form
Individuals who have taken a course with ESI may choose to subscribe to ESI’s free monthly Alumni newsletter, by becoming an Alumni Members. Students are requested to complete the membership form that requests their name, title, organization, industry, mailing address, phone number, and email.
Send this Page/Refer a Friend Form
If a site visitor elects to use our referral service for informing a friend about our classroom courses, we ask the site visitor to provide the friend’s email address. ESI International will automatically send the friend a one-time email inviting him/her to visit the site. The e-mails provided through the Send this Page Form are not collected for ESI marketing purposes and will not result in additional emails from ESI. You may report any abuses of this form to privacy@esi-intl.com.

We use basic data like browser type, referring URLs, general geographic trends and hits per page to analyze trends, administer the site and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. We collect this information to enhance the quality of your experience during your visit to our site.
Sharing
From time to time, ESI may share student postal mailing addresses with our parent company, Informa, and qualified third parties who wish to notify students about related career training opportunities or events through the mail. At no time does ESI share email addresses with any third parties or its parent company, except in certain term-based e-training courses where ESI shares students' e-mail addresses with other students in the class.

Choice/Opt-Out
ESI International will periodically send you email messages, faxes and postal mailings describing courses and training opportunities. At any time, customers may opt out of receiving promotional mail, faxes or email from ESI by sending an e-mail to esi-info@esi-intl.com. Please provide a name, company name, contact phone number, email address and detailed information within your request so that we might process it quickly. In addition, ESI includes subscription management information in every promotional email it sends to customers. If you choose to opt out entirely from receiving promotional emails, you will then only receive emails to confirm a course registration, event or Webinar registration, or e-mails from our customer service representatives seeking clarification on a course or publication order. We may also need to send operational emails to inform you of any changes to our site that might affect registrations or other transactions.
ESI does not share email addresses with third parties.
Notification of Changes
This privacy policy was posted on September 30, 2009. We reserve the right to change, modify or amend this policy at any time. If we make any significant change to this policy, we will post notice of the change on ESI International for a period of at least six months after the change is implemented.
Security
The security of your personal information is very important to us. In our efforts to protect your online transactions, we use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), which will automatically encrypt your personal information before it is sent over the Internet (if your browser is SSL capable and most are).
Cookies
