Business Analysis Certificate - Professional

Professional Certificate
in Business Analysis

The Professional Certificate in Business Analysis recognizes professionals who have mastered the distinct skills and competencies needed to determine project or system requirements, control scope and manage these requirements throughout the development life cycle.

Backed by The George Washington University School of Business (GW) in Washington, D.C., this professional certificate is recognized throughout the industry and distinguishes business analysts from their peers.

Requirements

To earn a Professional Certificate in Business Analysis, you must successfully complete five courses within four years.

Courses may be applied toward only one master’s or professional certificate. You must adhere to the restrictions noted on the course pages.

Course Order

Each course in the Business Analysis curriculum builds upon skills learned in previous courses.

If you are new to business analysis, you may choose to start by taking Introduction to Business Analysis. If you have little or no project management experience, you may wish to take Managing Projects or Managing IT Projects as your elective course.

Preparing for the CBAP exam

This course of study enables you to address five out of the six Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK) areas established by the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA). ESI’s business analysis courses also can be applied toward the required 21 hours of training needed to apply to take the CBAP exam.

Maintaining your CBAP Certification

If you are a Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) by the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA), you may use the courses in ESI's Business Analysis Program toward maintaining your certification. ESI is an Endorsed Education Provider (EEP™) of the IIBA™. Attending our business analysis courses is an excellent means of earning continuing education/professional development units.

Additional Credentials

If you are pursuing a Master's Certificate in Project Management or Information Technology Project Management, you may complete a business analysis course as one of your electives. Also, attending ESI's business analysis courses is an excellent way to earn PDUs to maintain your PMP® certification from PMI®.

PMP is a certification mark of the Project Management Institute, Inc. and is registered in the United States and other nations.

Certified Business Analyst (CBA)

By completing this program and earning your Professional Certificate in Business Analysis, you will become a Certified Business Analyst (CBA)*. This prestigious credential is awarded by ESI and demonstrates your commitment to professional excellence. You may use the CBA designation on your business cards, résumé and correspondence.

*Certification is provided by ESI (and any other future certifying party) solely to show that an individual has met the requirements of completing courses as described herein; no other representation or warranty is being certified.
