Associate's Certificate FAQs

What are the requirements to earn an Associate's Certificate in Project Management?

You must successfully complete three project management courses within two years to receive your associate's certificate. One (and only one) course must be taken from these introductory courses: Managing Projects or Managing IT Projects. The remaining two courses can betaken from the following curricula: Core Project Management courses, IT Project Management courses or Project Management Elective courses or Business Skills (limit one).

Courses for Experienced Project Managers, Business Analysis courses, workshops and the PMP® exam review courses do not apply to the associate's certificate.

Sample certificate paths

Which course should I take first?

Although there is no order in which you should take the courses, we recommend that you take the one introductory course first to become familiar with project management terminology and principles. If you need assistance selecting which courses best fit your needs, please call our course counselors at +1 (888) ESI-4680.

Do e-Training courses count toward my associate's certificate?

Yes. You may substitute Managing Projects (the e-training equivalent of the classroom course, Managing Projects) as your introductory course. You may then apply any Project Management e-training course toward your certificate. Other specialized e-training courses may not be applied.

How long do I have to complete the associate certificate requirements?

You must successfully complete all requirements within two years to earn an associate's certificate.

How long will it take to receive my associate's certificate after completing the certificate requirements?

Can I apply courses from my associate's certificate to a master's certificate?

Yes, we encourage you to continue your training to obtain your master's certificate from ESI/GW. All courses that are taken for the associate's certificate may be applied toward a Master's Certificate in Project Management or a Master's Certificate in Information Technology Project Management.

I already have my associate's certificate. How long do I have to complete my master's certificate?

You must successfully complete your master's certificate requirements within four years from the first day of your first ESI course.

Does the Double Deal Discount apply to courses for the associate's certificate?
