ESI Launches CMAppraise: A Knowledge and Skills Assessment
(ARLINGTON, VA - February 14, 2005) -- ESI is pleased to announce that we will be launching CMAppraise: A Knowledge and Skills Assessment™ on February 14. This new tool enables professionals and managers to measure knowledge and competencies in the practice of contract management. CMAppraise™ allows government procurement practitioners the opportunity to immediately pinpoint their strengths and improvement needs in the field of contracting.
CMAppraise™ is a convenient online assessment tool consisting of 120 multiple-choice questions spanning the spectrum of the acquisition body of knowledge. It thoroughly covers basic and advanced areas of legal and regulatory contracting principles, acquisition planning/strategy, contract administration, specialized knowledge and general business. The assessement was developed to reflect the acquisition knowledge encompassed in the NCMA Contract Management Body of Knowledge (CMBOK) as well as the critical procurement learning objectives advocated by the Defense Acquisition University and the Federal Acquisition Institute.
After completing the assessment, procurement professionals are automatically provided with results that point to training needs and areas of strength. This is an excellent aid to the tactical and long-range planning of formal procurement training. Contracting officers and specialists can quickly learn which courses are needed to round out their technical knowledge of the procurement field.
Acquisition managers should also consider the potential of CMAppraise™ beyond individual use. The tool can be used office-wide to assess the overall strengths and training needs of the entire organization. Managers might even use it as a recruiting tool to assess the knowledge of applicants for important positions.
CMAppraise™ goes live on February 14 and will cost $100 for 90 days of access.
