ESI EXECUTIVE NAMED TO NCMA BOARD OF ADVISORS
National Contract Management Association Draws on Paul Denett’s Expertise in Contract Management
(ARLINGTON, VA - July 27, 2005) -- ESI International, the leading provider of contract management, project management and business analysis training, today announced that Paul Denett, Vice President, Contracting Programs, has been appointed to the advisory board of the National Contract Management Association (NCMA). Denett will serve on the board during the 2006 program year, which commenced July 1, 2005 and runs through June 30, 2006.
“We’re excited to have Paul join our advisory board,” says Karen Reuter, NCMA’s national president. “The purpose of the board is to provide top-level counsel to the national officers of NCMA on issues of importance to the contract management profession. By virtue of his years of contract management experience and his continued role as an industry leader with ESI, we expect Paul will provide great value to NCMA and allow us to more effectively serve our members.”
“With contracting issues such as outsourcing, performance-based service contracting and earned value management, there are a number of potential problems of which contract managers must be aware,” says Denett. “With so much at stake, contract managers are pivotal business brokers who are essential to the bottom-line. I am delighted to be involved with such an important organization that is serving this vital business community.”
NCMA is a membership-based, professional society that was formed in 1959 to foster the professional growth and educational advancement of its members. NCMA exists to enable the contract management workforce to grow professionally, assess individual and organizational competency against professional standards, establish values, develop best practices and provide access to skilled individuals, enabling enterprises to improve their buyer-seller relationships.
Denett brought more than 30 years of contracting experience to ESI in 2003, after serving as program director for Logistics Management Institute (LMI), where he focused on the strategic improvement of government acquisition and grant management issues. He previously held senior contract management positions for a number of government agencies, including the departments of Interior, Treasury and Agriculture, as well as the United States Navy and Army. He also served as vice chairman of the government-wide Procurement Executives Council, a precursor to the Federal Acquisition Council. Denett holds a master’s degree with emphasis in acquisition from The George Washington University and is a NCMA fellow.
