ESI International Introduces New Sourcing Management Program
Training Provides Cross-Functional Perspective and Skill Set Necessary for Successful Vendor Management
(ARLINGTON, VA - February 23, 2006) -- ESI International, the leading provider of performance improvement programs in project management, contract management and business analysis, today announced its new Sourcing Management program.
ESI's Sourcing Management curriculum provides a multi-disciplinary solution that helps professionals learn best practices for selecting the right vendor, improving vendor performance, decreasing costs and eliminating schedule delays on virtually any project.
Regardless of industry, successful sourcing requires a combination of skills. Professionals need a solid understanding of everything from project planning and requirements management to financial expertise and contract administration. Contract managers, project managers and business analysts alike are all called upon to participate in sourcing initiatives, working with managers and staff throughout an organization to correctly identify requirements for products and services to be delivered.
ESI's Sourcing Management program is appropriate for professionals interested in improving skills in one specific area of sourcing or those interested in completing the entire curriculum and earning a Master's Certificate in Sourcing Management from ESI and its academic partner, The George Washington University.
The full curriculum includes instruction in managing vendors, decreasing acquisition cycles, keeping contracted services within budget and on schedule, preventing contract delays due to claims or changes, increasing profitability, lowering costs and much more.
Those interested in earning a Master's Certificate in Sourcing Management must complete seven courses, including two mandatory classes: Contract Management Principles and Practices and Managing Projects. The remaining five classes may be chosen from the sourcing management curriculum and can be taken in ESI's public classroom training locations or via ESI's specialized on-site delivery program.
"Over the past few years, advances in technology, globalization and changes in the competitive landscape have amplified the need for sourcing skills," said John Elsey, president of ESI. "ESI's Sourcing Management program can help professionals develop the skills they need, resulting in a positive impact on an organization's business, customer satisfaction and project success."
