The Federal Acquisition Institute Taps ESI International to Provide Instruction to nearly 2000 Federal Acquisition Professionals

(ARLINGTON, VA – March 28, 2006) -- ESI International, the leading provider of performance improvement programs in contract management, project management, business analysis and sourcing management, was recently awarded a GSA Schedule order by the Federal Acquisition Institute (FAI) for training sessions in the Washington, DC area and key locations around the country using the Federal Acquisition Workforce Training Fund. ESI will conduct more than 70 sessions of two courses that are equivalent to the Defense Acquisition University's offerings, Shaping Smart Business Arrangements (CON 100) and Government Contract Law (CON 210). The courses will be delivered to members of the civilian agency acquisition workforce over the next eighteen months. If all the scheduled courses run under the order, it will result in more than $1 million in revenue for ESI.

ESI recently obtained DAU's equivalency authorization for all five of DAU's Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Level I Certification courses for the contracting workforce, as well as for the Level II CON 210 course mentioned above. In addition, ESI is currently the only training provider, other than DAU, that has obtained the equivalency authorization for DAU's Fundamentals of Earned Value Management course (BCF 102), which is part of the Level I curriculum for the Business, Cost Estimating and Finance workforce under DAWIA.

FAI solicited training services from ESI after the Federal Chief Acquisition Officer's Council and The Office of Federal Procurement Policy recently agreed to establish implementation procedures to improve the civilian agency acquisition workforce. The DAU's DAWIA Certification training curriculum was selected as the standard for the contracting workforce.

"We're very pleased about FAI's show of confidence and are fully prepared to assist in the training of the next wave of the acquisition workforce,"; says John Elsey, President of ESI. "In the coming months, we will work hard with FAI, DAU and federal agencies to further improve their employees' knowledge and skills and help them reach their organizational objectives."
