(ARLINGTON, VA – Nov. 26, 2007) – Today, ESI International announced the launch of its Business Transformation Suite, a set of courses designed to help government project and program management professionals and contractors use enterprise architecture (EA), capital planning and investment control (CPIC), and earned value management (EVM) to improve organizational planning, performance and results. This new suite of courses will provide individuals and teams with the knowledge and tools needed to develop EA best practices, including transition plans to ensure successful transition from the “as-is” to the “to-be” environment.

Coordination of these common business practices and processes improves efficiency and cost effectiveness. The Business Transformation Suite — ranging from elemental to advanced concepts — is comprised of three courses:

1. Enterprise Architecture Fundamentals addresses the basic concepts of EA. Participants learn about enterprise architecture frameworks to help them improve the way they approach goal alignment, modernization and transformation initiatives.
2. CPIC and the Exhibit 300 focuses on the CPIC process and teaches individuals how to contribute information to and prepare an Exhibit 300, the business case agencies submit to obtain funding approval for IT capital investments from the U.S. Office of Management and Budget. Participants also learn how to connect the CPIC life cycle to strategic plans. 
3. Applied Earned Value Management teaches the EVM process from the project development stage to final execution. Topics covered include the basic elements of a performance system, standard policies and procedures in a performance management system and required tools for earned value data management.
