ESI International Honored with ASTD’s Prestigious Excellence in Practice Citation for Project Management
(ARLINGTON, VA - April 13, 2001) --ESI International, the leading provider of project management and contract management training services, was recently awarded the Excellence in Practice Citation from the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) for its contributions to Motorola Inc.’s effort to enhance project management skills within the company. ESI and Motorola received the award for their efforts in the areas of project management development and training. ASTD is the world’s largest and most respected professional organization for professional development.
"Of all our clients, very few have reached the level of partnership that we enjoy with Motorola and we couldn’t be more pleased to share this award with them," says ESI President Larry Seeley. "ESI has worked hard to build a reputation as one of the instruments of change in many Fortune 500 organizations. We congratulate Motorola for its success in winning this citation, and we are proud to have played a part in their effort to implement a corporate-wide, consistent project management methodology that has changed their corporate culture."
"The consistent delivery of project management education that addresses methods, tools and techniques helps Motorola more effectively manage projects and meet our customer commitments worldwide," says Theodore D. Zucconi, Ph.D., Director, Business Performance, Consulting and Project Management, Motorola University. "ESI assisted us in defining and developing a structured curriculum that helps Motorola define consistent project management methods for all of our units around the globe. ESI’s world-class training also outlines for our employees a visible career track and ensures greater job satisfaction."
Motorola reports that, to date, more than 4,000 employees have taken advantage of the company’s project management training program that includes ESI’s classes. ESI’s project management curriculum culminates in impressive credentials, including a Master’s Certificate from The George Washington University School of Business and Public Management. Already, 25 percent of those employees in the Motorola program have earned this impressive, industry-recognized credential. In addition, some managers have also become certified as Project Management Professionals by the Project Management Institute as a result of their training.
